ICM'07 Call for Papers

The IEEE International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM) 2007 is technically co-sponsored from the IEEE Electron Devices Society. ICM 2007 is held in cooperation with the French University in Egypt. The ICM has been held in numerous countries across the Middle East and Asia over the past 18 years. ICM 2007 will include oral, poster sessions and tutorials given by experts in state-of-the-art topics.

Prospective authors are invited to submit papers on all areas of devices, circuits and systems, including but not limited to:

1- Integrated Circuits and Systems

  • Embedded system design
  • System on Chip (SoCs)
  • System in Package (SiP)
  • Digital signal and data processing
  • Applications to computer and telecommunications systems
  • Analog circuit techniques
  • Design for testability
  • VLSI design
  • Wireless Communication Applications
  • Integrated antenna and front-end co-design
  • Custom and semi-custom circuits (design concepts, architectures and high-performance and low-power circuits)

2- Computer-Aided Design for Microelectronics

  • Test methodologies and issues
  • Parallel embedded systems
  • Silicon optimization
  • Simulation (process, device, circuit, logic, timing, functional)
  • Layout (placement, routing, floorplanning, symbolic, ERC, DRC)
  • Testing: Formal verification

3- Micro / Nanoelectronics Technology

  • Device characterization and modeling
  • Device physics and novel structures
  • Materials and material characterization techniques
  • Process technology, CMOS, BJT, BiCMOS, GaAs
  • Reliability and failure analysis
  • Radiation effects
  • Packaging, surface mount technology
  • Optoelectronics
  • MEMS Devices

Authors are invited to submit a 4-page full paper according to the posted guidelines in the authors' info. Papers exceeding the 4-page limit will not be reviewed. Only electronic submissions will be accepted via the online submission system.

Accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings and included in IEEE XPLORE database.

Authors of a few selected papers from the Conference will also be given an opportunity to submit enhanced versions of their papers for publication in a special issue of Elsevier’s Microelectronics Journal.

Important Dates

  • Deadline for Full Paper Submission: July 2, 2007
  • Notification of Paper Acceptance: September 15, 2007
  • Submission of Final Papers: October 1, 2007
  • Author Registration: October 26, 2007

Call for Designs: International Electronics Design Contest for Students (IEDCS)

The 4th International Electronics Design Contest for Students (IEDCS) will be held in conjunction with ICM 2007. Undergraduate students are encouraged to submit their graduation projects to IEDCS. Information about the format and project criteria can be found at www.ieee-icm.com/IEDCS.php.

The top three winning designs will receive recognition in the form of:

  • Their paper is printed in the ICM conference proceeding.
  • Present their project in a poster session at ICM
  • Waiving their conference registration fees.
  • OpenTech EDA tools and designs will be awarded for each winning project team member (Sponsored by Handasa Arabia).

The rest of the submitted projects will be hosted under Handasa Arabia's open source platform for further development from the open hardware community.

Deadline for Project Submission: August 15, 2007.
